St. Margaret’s parish is undertaking a Feasibility Study to determine the level of support for a capital campaign to pay for replacements and updates to the Church, Auditorium, Parish Center, and Parish Grounds.
The Challenge Ahead
Our parish has been part of the community of Selden and the surrounding areas since 1948. During those almost seventy years, we have sought to live the spirit of faith, welcome and concern expressed by the image of our patroness, St. Margaret of Scotland, that greets us all at our entrances. But, in doing so, great demands have been placed on our over fifty year old buildings. Through the years, parishioners have supported campaigns to meet the challenges of repairs. As more time has passed, further capital improvements to ensure safety, increase efficiency and security and fix deteriorating conditions have become apparent. Over the past several months, members of the the Finance Committee, with the assistance of professionals, carefully reviewed and prioritized those issues. In order to continue to celebrate our Catholic faith in a safe and appropriate setting, we are proposing to undertake the following capital projects.
The goal of this plan is to put our Church, Auditorium, Parish Center, and Parish Grounds on a firm footing as we look toward the future by reducing operating costs, increasing safety and providing improvements to encourage more community building activities. At this point cost estimates are being gathered and will be shared with the parish. Our hope is to engage all parishioners to financially support this campaign.
